Slovenia officially closes the Spring Day for Europe campaign

The Slovenian schools enrolled with Spring Day for Europe took part in a national closing event at Gimnazija Moste, Ljubljana, Slovenia on 2 June 2009.

Besides the members of the National Slovenian Spring Day Team the invited guests included the Slovenian Minister of Education, Dr. Igor Luksic, Mr. Mito Znidarko from the representative body of the EU Commission in Slovenia, Mr. Jernej Gregoric, from the EU Parliament Office, Mrs Nika Gams, headteacher of Gimnazija Moste as well as students and their teachers from schools and other educational institutions all over the country.

The ceremony hosted by the national project coordinator, Mojca Orel, was a testimony to innovation and creativity, featuring a variety of fantastic performances by young and very talented artists from kindergartens, primary, lower-secondary and secondary schools from all over Slovenia.

The results of the national Spring Day competitions were also announced and the winners were awarded their prizes during the ceremony itself. The event was Web-streamed and then stored in this online archive http://www.arnes.si:80/video/vod/

To date 165 Slovenian schools have registered with Spring Day for Europe. Registration on this website will close on 30 June 2009. All the registered schools are eligible to download a certificate of participation via their profile. School profiles can be accessed by the teachers who registered their schools, by entering their username and associated password in the "Login" section on the home page.
